Two shores, one table
West'Af was born from a simple idea: bring the flavours of Dakar all the way to Nungwi, one plate at a time. Here, sauces simmer every morning the West African way: mafé with peanuts, yassa with preserved lemon, moyo with tomato and chilli, while chicken and fish are grilled to order, fresh from the sea and the island's markets.
You'll also find Zanzibari classics on the table: mchuzi wa samaki, urojo, coconut rice. A good neighbourhood restaurant always speaks both languages of the place it calls home.
The nod to Senegal runs through the whole space too, in the wax patterns, raw wood, living green wall and warm neon: a welcoming, easygoing and stylish atmosphere, made for lingering.
